Solar Thermal Water Heating
Example entry regarding solar thermal water heating. This technology is used most commonly to warm swimming pools. As the suns rays shine down towards onto dark colored water filled materials, heat is obsorbed and transfered to water where it is stored. A motor is required to circulate the water supply, a closed loop is created in the case of a swimming pool where cold water is taken from the pool, passed through the solar heaters (often mounted on a roof or other unobstructed location) and then returned to the pool.
